Join Leia for an 8 hour class focusing on myofascial injury treatment techniques for the hips, glutes and groin and conversations around treatment work, especially in vulnerable areas.

In this class you’ll learn to:

▪ Assess movement and tissue during intake and during treatment when necessary.
▪ Apply practical myofascial techniques for the hip, glute, and groin.
▪ Use active, passive, and assisted movement to guide treatment.
▪ Have more confident intake and consent conversations.
▪ Adapt treatment based on what you discover during the session.
▪ Test and retest to evaluate change.
Detailed injury treatment for the hip, glute, and groin while building a practical framework you can apply throughout your practice—not just in one region of the body.

Why this class?

Clarity instead of confusion

Know where to start, what questions to ask, and what to look for.

Learn how to have ongoing consent conversations with your client about the work you’re doing, especially in vulnerable areas.

Leave with practical language to discuss treatment options, and help clients understand why these areas may be relevant to their care.

Confidence instead of doubt

Communicate clearly, work thoughtfully, and trust your clinical reasoning.

Doubt while working the glutes and groin feels uncomfortable for your client at best—and unsafe at worst.

Through discussion, demonstration, and hands-on practice, you'll build confidence working with the hips, glutes, and groin professionally, thoughtfully, and effectively.

Integration instead of avoidance

Develop practical skills that blend:

- Assessment on and off the table
- Clear communication
- Clinical reasoning
- Local and functional treatment techniques
- Active, passive and assisted stretch movements

Learn not only new techniques, but how to choose, adapt, and integrate them into the work you already do.

Hi, my name is Leia

I’m the instructor for this class, and the owner of Practical Renewal Massage in Everett, Washington.

For the past four years I've worked with clients experiencing chronic pain, post-surgical recovery, TMJ dysfunction, movement restrictions, and complex pain patterns. My practice focuses on thoughtful treatment adapted to the person in front of me.

One of my favorite parts of this profession is helping people better understand their bodies. The more I practice, the I found myself wanting to share the thought process behind the work—not just the techniques.

Why I’m teaching this class

I am passionate and a complete nerd about our profession. I've been volunteering at Spectrum School of Massage since I graduated because I love this work and I believe in being a part of our industries growth, and supporting the therapists coming after us.. One thing I've consistently noticed—both while volunteering and in practice—is that most therapists already have more skill than they give themselves credit for.

What they're often missing isn't another technique—it's the confidence to make thoughtful treatment decisions beyond their routine, adapt the skills they already have, and communicate confidently with clients.

My goal isn't to teach you a sequence to memorize. It's to help you know where to start, what questions to ask, and how to adapt your treatment to the person on your table.

We'll spend the day practicing assessment, communication, testing, and hands-on treatment so that when a client says, "It hurts here," you'll have a clearer idea of where to start, what questions to ask, and how to adapt your treatment to the person in front of you.
